Remember is not the one man band, is the equipment that you use. I have worked in a music store, Play in a bands and also play in Lao/Thai bar as a one man band. You have good equipment you'll have good sound.
You have cheap equipment you'll get cheap sound.
"Simple as that". Since we all know Sandra can sing so well,
so it doesn't matter what they use as long as it work. Most people go to see her because of her popularity, If they want good sound or they have to do is buy her CD/DVD.

I'm sure Alexandra is capable of singing live with each song carefully selected during her concert. Even many of the top singers and bands are being accused of lip sync to their own songs during their concerts. While it is important that the artist must show one's talent, he/she also has to walk a thin line between singing for 2-3 hours and sounds horrible at the end of the concert due to diaphragm fatigue or selectively lip sync on some of the songs to maintain a perfect voice. That's why many famous singers sing their high notes half a step below their recorded voices during live performance so they don't end up ruining their vocal cords.

Hi alexandra,you did a great job here in usa and in australia.people don't realise when performing not with your real band,you not going to get a real good sound and especially with an instrument that are not good quality.When performer come over sea like her,they have to deal with one man band,which i think are not good stage for her and you not going to get quality sound like DVD.i don't blame her for lip sync for some of that occasion,i bet anyone if she brought her own band it would sound good as a DVD,maybe but my point is the stage they gave her here are suck one man band suck,instrument are terrible.

Yes, most Lao band likes to use the term "just get by" when it comes down to band equipments.
I know it suck but that's Lao mentality for you.

I agree. Alexandra always gave her best every time she performed. Too bad that a talented artist like her has to work with an ill-prepared, disorganized group of people. Please don't take the responsibility if one cannot provide quality equipment and time!

The concert could have been way better and more fun on 12/01/07 in Seatle at JUMBO RESTAURANT. The soundcheck was not well prepared before Alexndra sang her songs. I think it was just unprofessional to for any artist to have a concert and the MIC was not working along with her karoake disc. Her voice was a whisper everytime she tried to sang. I hope that the next concert/for every concert Xandra have that she have a professional do soundcheck so her concert would be really fun . The sound work fine when other singers sang with the keyboard. If the place don't let you do sound check then do not perform at that location.
My friends and I stayed till the end. I liked how Xandra sang Mor Lum song...she was pretty good. Alexandra sings and perform beautifully it just too bad that the concert was not all fun because the people that work on the sound couldn't do their job (and they tried all night).
I hope next time she's in town performing they will have someone do a better job in making sure her MIC/sound works good when she sings.

I was able to purchase pre-sale tickets at the restaurant THAI BASILS
in Kent. For other fans that are interested to buy pre-sale tickets for this Sat. concert in Seattle...you can also go get them at the Lao store VIENTIANE .Can't wait to go see her perform and have fun this weekend 12/01/07.

Ahhhh...im not sure about her other concerts, but her concert in Minnesota was GET THE TICKETS at the door cuss you can't purchase it anywhere else! and about her show in CALIFORINA all i heard was ish gunna be in Annaheim...if i find any more infor i'll let ya knoe! Also i don't think there was any meet and greet with her fans onlee if u at the concert then u see her...

For those that went to see her concert, how early did you guys/ladies buy the tickets?? I'm hearing rumors that she will perform in California
soon, but it has yet to be confirmed..Just curious because I know a lot of people are dying to see her on the west coast.

Also, did she have a meet and greet with her fans??? or people just going up to her and taking their pictures with her..it seems that way

I tried to buy an album online but they're all sold out!!! I guess I'll have to keep listening to 'Jewel of the Mekong'. I was born in NZ and will be visiting Laos for the first time shortly. Your such a beautiful girl (I know you've heard it a million times!) and have a voice to match. Your english is very good...much better than my Laotian anyway.
